Our Strategic Plan
Aligned and Integrated with our Five-Year Plan and CIS and WASC Accreditation
The strategic priorities of Taoyuan American School (TYAS) are guided by the school's Five-Year Strategic Plan and further informed and refined by feedback from the 2025 CIS/WASC Preparatory Engagement. Together, these have helped shape the school's focus on continuous improvement in areas such as governance and leadership, curriculum and assessment, multilingual learning, student well-being and safeguarding, professional growth, and organizational sustainability.
The Strategic Plan serves as the school's overarching long-term direction, while the accreditation process provides external feedback, evidence, and reflection that help strengthen priorities, monitor progress, and guide ongoing school improvement.

2025 and Beyond
In line with the guiding principles of the Five-Year Strategic Plan, several major developments will take place at TYAS in the coming years.
Campus Estate and Infrastructure Developments
TYAS is actively considering campus expansion and infrastructure renovation plans to further enhance overall educational development, improve facilities and equipment, and elevate teaching quality, in alignment with the objectives and action plans of the Five-Year Strategic Plan.
With the full support of the Board, a due diligence process is underway with professional legal and financial advisors to ensure sustainability and risk control. This significant renovation plan will be a key topic of internal discussion and decision-making over the next five years. It will require the support of relevant stakeholders and communication with education authorities, and will be one of the most critical strategic decisions for TYAS in the coming years.
Dual Accreditation from CIS and WASC
Obtaining accreditation from both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is a key step for TYAS in achieving teaching excellence, providing students with holistic educational opportunities, and developing them into globally minded leaders.
Building on the 2025 CIS/WASC Preparatory Engagement, TYAS is committed to fully meeting its goals throughout the entire accreditation cycle. This represents a shared commitment and collective effort from all key stakeholders of the school.
